VISIT TO THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN:
The Igbo World Union, a socio-cultural organization with part objectives to initiate, project and promote the rights of Ndigbo at home and in Diaspora is at it again, blowing hot and blazing the trial as it forges alliance with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, when the president General of IWU, Amb. Dr. Sir, Mishak Nnanta JP. and his IWU National Officers paid courtesy visit to the envoy in F.C.T, Abuja. At Pakistani Embassy, the Gburuguru Ndigbo Dum and his delegates namely, National Women leader Rev. Dr. Kate Uzugbunam, Sec. Gen, Engr. Peter Uyalemuo, the spiritual father Bishop Ukpai, Northern Zone Women Coordinator Chief Mrs. Fidel Orji were warmly received by the ambassador and his Embassy staffs.
In his speech Sir Nnanta told of how the last Igbo world Summit held in the New York, Igbos decided to honour the envoy for the unique role his country has played and are still playing in Nigeria and Africa, though the Igbos are known quantity and their numbers unverified in that country, but in no distant time, the Igbo race would enumerate her people and their effort at uplifting their host country, Pakistan.
Speaking further Sir Nnanta seeks the establishment of far reaching cultural, economic and scientific expository ties, as a boost to Ndigbo and Nigeria. Though Igbo people are most migrated force in most parts of the world, contributing immensely to the world developments. In common palace any part of the world without an Igbo man is declared unfit for life sustenance and hard-working race that coupled with natural endowment and acumen, we could possibly turn rocky plains to fertile land.
In his remarks, the Ambassador thanked the association for recognizing his country roles in Nigeria progress. Speaking further, he said that there are major Pakistani construction firms working in Nigeria, of all their employees, the performance of the Igbo workforce in those companies are commendable. He eulogized the Igbo’s whom he had got to know as ambidextrous result-oriented-workaholics, who are very good in their trade. According to him, Igbos dominate investment everywhere in Nigeria and beyond just like the demand community of Pakistan, that are predominant factors in industrial and sundry investment. Pakistan is of divers culture just as Nigeria, which they have harnessed properly for their economic growth.
According to the envoy, no Pakistan Drug Company or agency had been blacklisted/indicted by NAFDAC for substandard/fake drug, simply because Pakistan believes in originality without mass production, though the price could be more expensive. Moreso on a global scale Pakistan produced 75% of world’s best surgical equipment and are world 2nd largest in textile production and world 4th largest in cotton production, the Pakistan football league which could be explored is among the most viable in that region. The Onitsha chambers of commerce and industry in partnership with the government would provide lands for Pakistan investors who are keen to invest in Nigeria. He discussed and persuaded the envoy on the imperative of a Southern/Estern Liaison office to ease/frustration associated with long distance visa application. The president General of IWU Amb. Dr. Sir, Mishak Nnanta JP. honoured the Pakistan Ambassador with the title of “Nwata Kwochaka Ndi Igbo Dum,” assuring him of Royal hospitality anywhere in Igbo land henceforth in appreciation of his goodwill to the Igbo race. The Ambassador thanked him promising to do all with his capacity to fulfill the union dream.
