COURTESY VISIT TO THE PRESIDENCY:
The Igbo World Union (IWU), socio-cultural organization in the vanguard of initiating, promoting and protecting the right of the Ndigbo at home and in the Diaspora recently paid a scheduled courtesy visit to the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in FCT, Abuja.
The organization was led by its president General sir, Dr, Mishak Nnanta JP. who is also the Gburuguru Ndigbo Dum. His entourage includes the National Executive Officers as follows; Sec. Gen, Engr. Peter Uyalemuo, Northern Zone Women coordinator, Chief Mrs. Fidel Orji, Niger State Chairman Ralph Ezeka, Asst. nat. PRO Kingsley U. Okoronkwo jp. Vice Co-ordinator South East Pastor Celestine Iude, Niger State Women leader Mrs. Njideka Okeke and host of others, who on arrival at the presidency were received by the retinue of officers in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the permanent secretary Olukunle Bamgbose of political affairs in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
In his brief speech the Gburuguru Ndigbo Dum, Sir Nnanta reaffirmed ndigbos position in the Nigerian Nation as the first son of Nigeria. Being the first to propelled Ndigbo to invest in all parts of Nigeria without ethnic sentiments. Ndigbo has sincerely and repeatedly exhibited passionate commitment to the unity, civilization and progress of Nigeria. But due to the longtime neglecting of zone, with near zero Federal infrastructural budgeted 10 billion naira for the second Niger bridge as a boost to the economic activities in progress and must be a mission accomplished for the government. Speaking on ecology, He mentioned that erosion which is a prevalent menace in south East is receiving serious attention. On terrorist infraction into the North East, Government has seriously crippled and drastically reduced/decimated Boko Harams lethal capacity. On the herds men/cattle re-rears incessant clash with villagers and farmers, he said government is beaming searchlights to finding lasting solutions. Moreover the government is sourcing to provide an all-inclusive cattle grazing farm land, as to pool all castles into a grazing reservation. According to him, the president is methodically tackling corruptions, stoppage in stealing of public funds and creating accountable fund base. Yes, IWU’s request for absorption of her people to board of parastatals or government agency is a welcome development, which the present dispensation will harness but for competent personnel’s, as it is highly competitive. He observed that Igbo women are adequately represented in the union, which are an assets base of any progressive nation.
The president’s visit to China has liberalized the naira as a direct exchange with the Yuan, which means our businessmen who do business with China will no longer be encumbered with the dollar bottle neck. He mentioned that Igbo-china trading relationship has been strengthened with President Buhari Trip. Buhari is to build and support the creation of more industrial zones to enhance private job creations. Sir Nnanta prayed God to endow President Buhari and his teams, with good health and more wisdom to lead Nigeria aright.
