VISIT OF IGBO WORLD UNION TO THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE SUDAN ON 24TH AUGUST 2016 AT PLOT 337, ZONE AO, MISSION ROAD, CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT, ABUJA.
It was a fulfilling moment when the members of Igbo World Union visited the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Abuja led by the President General of the organization His Majesty Sir, Dr. Mishak Nnanta (Gburuguru Ndi Igbo Dum) accompanied by other top executive members of the organization which include Engr. Peter C. Uyalemuo-Secretary General, Chief Mrs. Fidel Orji-Northern Zonal women coordinator, Mr Chinedu Ezeka-Chairman FCT. Chapter, Chief Mrs. Theresa Abalogu-women Leader FCT, Engr. Maryse Holmes Ogb-Secretary FCT. Chapter and Mrs. Chinasa Oko-Treasurer.
They were warmly received by the Ambassador, His Excellency Ibrahim Bushya M. Ali in the company of Mr.Mohhammed Hassan Mohammed Ali who is the Minister Plenipotentiary/Deputy Head of Mission and Mr. Mohammed Yousif- first secretary/Consular of the Embassy.
His Imperial Majesty Sir, Dr. Mishak Nnanta (Gburuguru Ndi igbo Dum) commented on the goodness and welcoming nature of the people of Sudan and talked about partnership with the embassy in the areas if interest like culture and business, pointing vividly that Igbo World Union is not interested in war nor disunity but colorful cultural and economic integration with each other. He also asked for land for establishment of Igbo school in Sudan. Also added that there should be synergy amongst traditional rulers within ECOWAS region and beyond which the Igbos are ready to make their own in that direction.
In his own submission the Ambassador His Excellency Ibrahim B.M. Ali, said he appreciates the idea of partnership and urged the Igbo’s to visit his country Sudan and expressed the need for the more cooperation to strive while acknowledgment that they are the first tribe to pay such visit to the embassy of Sudan.
His Imperial Majesty Sir, Dr. Mishak Nnanta (Gburuguru Ndi igbo Dum) with appreciation for the warm reception accorded to them presented the certificate of Chieftaincy title as (AKAEGBUCHI OWA NDI IGBO) meaning hand can’t cover the moon of Igbo people.
